The Blue Diamond Inn is nestled at the foot of the Rocky Mountains of Alberta, just east of the Jasper National Park boundary in the peaceful hamlet of Brule.
The rustic but modernly appointed home sits on a hill overlooking Brule Lake, Roche Miette, Roche Padre, Brule Roche and Folding Mountains. The view is spectacular on all sides and guests can enjoy it from their own decks.
There are many beautiful and interesting hiking spots including Ogre Canyon and the historic Blue Diamond Mine site. Lakes and rivers abound for swimming or fishing. Horseback riding can be arranged in Brule as well as overnight Packhorse Trips. The Nordic Centre, 15 minutes from Brule, offers cross-country skiing and horse-drawn sleigh rides can be booked over the Christmas season.
The nearby town of Hinton has many restaurants, a hospital, golf course, and shops for any type of supplies (including alcoholic beverages). Jasper National Park is a scenic 40 minute drive and, further on, the town of Jasper offers souvenir shops and many internationally renowned sites such as Maligne Lake, Miette Hot Springs, Whistlers Mountain, Columbia Ice Fields, Sunwapta Falls and Medicine Lake. In the winter there is world-class downhill and cross-country skiing and all can be done in a day’s outing.
For those who may want to experience Aboriginal Culture there will be Special Activity Weekends for Cultural Awareness Training and a Sweat Lodge, all facilitated by an Elder. There will also be weekends for aspiring singer songwriters who want to develop their craft. These will be facilitated by internationally successful recording artists. Participants will leave with a professional demo of their song recorded in the on-site, state-of-the-art digital studio, produced by an internationally recognized producer. Other special activity weekends will also be available.
